On the occasion of Javier Martins exhibition “Lights Appropriation”, we take a closer look at "Blindness Inner Door" and the meaning of natural light.
Following the Blindness-concept, we find here different elements which represent the natural light:
-      the Maya Symbol of the sun
-      a surrealistic door that opens the view into a blue sky
-      the typical model, blinded by a glueing yellow brushstroke.

Javier Martin uses a wide variety of technics and combines collage and painting.
What at first sight may appear as a natural wave turn out to be an everyday material from street advertising. Javier works here with paper posters, collected in Europe during rainy nights, dried and carefully selected to bring up another dimension.

The artwork speaks to its viewers and opens the door for our eyes to enter new perspectives.
