Metropolitan Museum is gifted six landmark paintings by Georg Baselitz and his wife Elke
All six works are on view as part of "Georg Baselitz: Pivotal Turn" January 28, 2021 Georg Baselitz and his wife, Elke, have gifted six portraits to The Metropolitan Museum of art. These portraits, all made in 1969, where among his first works in which the motif is literally turned upside down and were given to the Metropolitan in honor of its 150th anniversary last year. The works will be on view as part of "Georg Baselitz: Pivotal Turn" until July 18, 2021. -
