POSTPONED INDEFINITELY: Rulton Fyder: The Treachery of ThingsFake just got real 1 - 30 Sep 2023 New York CityIn the mid-1960s René Magritte read Michel Foucault’s “Les Mots et les choses” (The Order of Things) which was the same title Magritte had given an exhibition in New York City. It was this relationship between words and things that so many of his works explored with startlingly disorienting effect.
Against this background, it seems all too fitting that Rulton Fyder’s first solo show in New York City will explore how our current world is quickly becoming a treachery of all things. From engineered news to engineered human beings (robots) to engineered currency and engineered land in the crypto world.
Fake just got real.
