Pulpo Gallery launches major portraits show

Portraits - 1962 - 2017 will be on view until August 31, 2020

Murnau, June 1, 2020

With global travel bans, cancelled art fairs and restricted museum and gallery access our ability to experience and breath art has been significantly reduced these past couple of weeks.

Pulpo Gallery is doing its part to keep the art experience alive and is opening its first online only show:

Portraits: 1962 - 2017 examines the use of portraits in art across different mediums such as photography, oil paintings and drawings.

The journey takes visitors from Europe to Asia and from Africa to North America. They revisit Marilyn Monroe's famous "The Last Sitting", watch Georg Baselitz remix his provocative work "Big Night, explore Jean-Michel Basquiat's use of materials such as found wood or his early adoption of xerox photocopy and are mesmerized by Alex Katz's big scale portrait "Martha" or Jiro Takamatsu's Shadow (No. 1430).
