Show explores ties between Graffiti and Hip-Hop culture

Writing the Future: Basquiat and the Hip-Hop Generation will show at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston from October 18, 2020 to May 16, 2021. Co-curated by Liz Munsell and Greg Tate, the exhibition explores how Jean-Michel Basquiat and his collaborators A-One, Fab 5 Freddy, Keith Haring, Lady Pink and Rammellzee "fueled new directions in fine art, design, and music, driving the now-global popularity of hip-hop culture".

 

The show is accompanied by a playlist that includes Clash, Dizzy Gillespie, Grace Jones, Grandmaster Flash, Madona and Roxy Music.
