The bronze statue by Amadeo Morelos does not show a classic Venus with long hair, shy and pure.
The viewer is presented with an ambivalent figure in every respect. The gender is difficult to assign, the neck and shoulders are strong and masculine. The facial features, are feminine, the lips pursed, the overlong eyelashes.
Venus' gesture and posture are also ambiguous. The figure raises the left hand as if for a selfie photo, but at the same time the crossed legs show a hint of insecurity.
The figure shows the turmoil typical of Amadeus' recent work, which can certainly be applied to social phenomena.
